The Pittsburgh Penguins attended their second Mellon Arena Training Camp session today, one day before traveling to Detroit for pre-season game #3 against the Red Wings at 7:30 PM on Friday night. In a bit of good news, Petr Sykora was back on the ice today and skating well.
The team spent much of the day working positional play, neutral zone trap and forecheck drills, and special teams practice. At the end of practice, the team went through some grueling skating drills under the direction of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton skating coach Besa Tzintsadze. Besa’s drills focused on skating skills for improving explosiveness, power and quickness. It was a physically demanding drill at the end of a full practice.
